KNOWING GOD BETTER

If it’s true that a name is indicative of the character and destiny of a person, it’s even MORE true  of the names given to God.

From His might (El Shaddai) to His grace (El Channun) to His holiness (El Hakkadosh), God has  revealed Himself in His names. And every one of them describes a different attribute.

I am particularly impacted by the name Jehovah because it means “the covenant-keeping God.”

God’s covenant with us is the basis for our healing, blessing, provision...and most of all, our salvation.

The Lord (Jehovah) promised His people special covenant blessings if they obeyed Him.

One of the wonderful benefits of living in covenant with God, knowing Him as Jehovah, is you are literally chased by God’s blessings.

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 paints a beautiful picture of some of the blessings you can expect when you’re walking in God’s favor and living in covenant with Jehovah. And notice how all-inclusive God’s blessings will be.

But keep in mind there are conditions attached to this abundant favor.

If we expect to experience the kind of favor described in Deuteronomy 28, we must obey His voice, observe His commandments, and live in covenant with Jehovah, the covenant-keeping God.

And when you do, He becomes for you...

Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Your Provider)

Jehovah Rapha (The Lord Your Healer)

Jehovah Nissi (The Lord Your Banner)

Jehovah Shalom (The Lord Your Peace)

Jehovah Rohi (The Lord Your Shepherd)

Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord Your Righteousness)

Jehovah Yeshuati (The Lord Your Salvation)

God has a provision for whatever you need today...in fact, He IS the provision. Jesus is the “name above all other names” (Philippians 2:9).

And Jesus is the name we proclaim to the nations!
